Real Sociedad will play with a special jersey for Xabi Prieto

Next Saturday, on the occasion of the home match against Leganés, Real Sociedad will play with a unique jersey: a special crest featuring Xabi Prieto's face will replace the club's badge, who will play the last game at Anoeta with 'los txuriurdin'.

The Basque club has released a tearful video to explain this decision: Xabi Prieto has been a captain but also a flag, has always put Real Sociedad in the first place and has not left even after relegation in Segunda División, collecting 530 caps. For this reason, for once it will be the club that puts the player in the foreground.

As already happened with Villarreal's tribute to Iniesta, also the opposing team is ready to celebrate the farewell of Xabi Prieto: for this reason Leganés has announced that it will give up playing with its own blue-white shirt to pay homage to the number 10 of Real Sociedad but also to Carlos Martinez, who is also about to leave after 14 years with the same shirt on.
