adidas Football announces Lorenzo Insigne deal The Italian striker is the first Napoli footballer that is allowed to give his image rights to a brand

There have always been great discussions about the situation of the Napoli footballers’ image rights, a matter that sometimes has also prevent the Neapolitan club to sign some players. Since his arrival at Castel Volturno, in fact, president Aurelio De Laurentiis has always defended the club’s right to own the image rights of its footballers. Today, though, there has been a historic turn, as adidas Italia has just announced its latest testimonial: Lorenzo Insigne.

Napoli’s striker is the first player of the club allowed to give his image rights to a brand and it’s a massive step both for Insigne and Napoli itself. Insigne joins one of the most important brands in the world, that already praises footballers like Messi, Pogba, Firmino, and Bale. This deal will surely guarantee Lorenzinho a high visibility, as he’s one of the most limpid talents in Italian football, that will now be treated as his European equals. And by the way, he will get a brand new pair of adidas X17+ at his feet.

There are some interesting considerations also for Napoli. Insigne’s deal with adidas could also be seen from different perspectives. Could it be a ‘conditio sine qua non’ for Lorenzo to stay with the Neapolitan club? Or maybe an opening from president De Laurentiis toward his own players? In the statements, DeLa wishes for a remunerative and durable partnership with the Three Stripes, and maybe that’s all part of a long-term plan that involves Napoli and the German brand. In the meantime, adidas Italia has just announced Insigne’s deal on its social profiles and we can’t wait to see him in the next campaign made by the Three Stripes.
