UPDATE: in the last hours, even with the recent presentation of the new home kit made by PUMA, the possible deal between Arsenal and adidas Football has returned. According to media close to the London-based club, the Gunners may be about to sign a multi-year - and very remunerative - partnership with the Three Stripes. Are you excited about that?

With the commercial value of Premier League clubs that increases season after season, the run to the sponsorship deals continues without a break. And that’s why, approaching the last year of the current PUMA deal, Arsenal seems looking for a more remunerative deal, that could come from Herzogenaurach, adidas’ headquarter.

According to reports from English media, in fact, the Gunners could be in the German brand’s objectives, as it has recently lost Chelsea - which signed with Nike last season - and Tottenham, which preferred to sign with the Swoosh at the end of the previous Under Armour deal. Besides, PUMA has just announced the new partnership with AC Milan and could be keen to drop Arsenal, especially without the qualification to the next Champions League. So, adidas could supply a London club once again, even if it looks like PUMA have the chance to equal any offer coming from a competitor.

 

But which are the figures discussed? The English media reports of a £40-million per season worthy deal, a smaller amount than the one that the Three Stripes give Manchester United (£75M per season) and the £60M that Chelsea gets by Nike, but still more than Tottenham and Manchester City’s bonuses and especially the current PUMA deal, that is worth £30M. What’s more, an adidas return would be warmly welcomed by Gunners’ supporters, as the Three Stripes produced some of the best kits in the club’s history and they so could continue their nostalgic campaign started a few months ago. As they would say: it’s a win-win.
