Wednesday night goals

No, not the one you scored with your friends, but those from Ligue 1, FA Cup, and Copa del Rey

Wednesday night goals No, not the one you scored with your friends, but those from Ligue 1, FA Cup, and Copa del Rey

Even if we haven’t been seeing a Serie A game for two whole weeks - finally the league will be back after the hideous break - we can’t really complain about the lack of playing football. Last night, for example, even if it was a regular Wednesday night in January, there have been several games of Ligue 1, FA Cup, and Copa del Rey, that gave us more than one gem.

So, waiting for Ciro Immobile’s hat-tricks, Berardi’s missed penalties, and Rosi’s runs on the pitch, we thought to gather some good goals from yesterday night, because there are good and important ones.

Omelette à la française

In the Parc des Princes game, for example, everything happened. Paris Saint-Germain stuffed Gijon with 8 eggs, confirming itself as the leading club of the league. There have been many interesting facts, like:

This magic from Di Maria. Did he mean to score like this?

Cavani’s goal: it’s not so good, but allowed El Matador to reach Ibra as the all-time scorer for PSG (156 goals). Later, he has been denied by Neymar with the chance to score the record-breaking penalty.

But maybe we can forgive the Brazilian, that first scored this stunning free-kick

And later entered in FIFA18 mode, leaving all Dijon behind and scoring one of his four goals of the night.

On the other side of the Channel

Moving towards Britain, there has been the FA Cup that - as usual - gave us some joy. Like:

Jordan Ayew that decided to be like Ney, dribbling all the Wolves defense and scoring this beauty. Video quality: 0, goal quality: 100.

In Stamford Bridge, Jamal Lewis decided to melt down Norwich away stand by scoring the break-even at the 94th minute against Chelsea. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as Chelsea moved to the next stage winning at penalties.

#BONUS1: And it was quite right, mainly because of this magic by young Kenedy. Amazing.

Copa Caliente

Also, the Spanish Cup gave us some moments, like these ones:

The definitive return of Diego Costa. Atletico lost against Sevilla but at least they have their goal machine back.

Same for Deportivo Alavés, that scored this beauty with Ruben Sobrino but eventually lost against Valencia 2-1.

We close with the Derbi Barceloní, that Espanyol won thanks to this goal from Oscar Melendo, ending Barcelona’s 29 games long streak.

#BONUS2: Still, it has been Sergio Busquets’ night, that decided to turn into Xavi for a moment. LIT.
