Nike Basketball celebrates Kobe Bryant's numbers retirement Two commemorative jerseys with both number #8 and #24

Even if it’s been a while, Kobe Bryant’s retirement from all basketball activities is still a painful wound in every Lakers and NBA fan. And who bleeds purple and yellow - but also the neutral and opponents’ supporters - is getting ready for December 18, when at the Staples Center in Los Angeles there will be the retirement of Black Mamba’s jersey. Or better, jerseys. The Californian franchise will hang up both the number #8 and the #24, the two numbers that come with Kobe in the twenty years of NBA career.

For the occasion, Nike Basketball produced two replica jerseys to celebrate Bryant’s saluting. They’re almost identical to the regular one in the design, even if they have some details inserted for the occasion. There are Kobe’s signature, the five stars that represent the titles won and the date of retirement of the jerseys. Of course, they will be available with both enumerations, the 8 and the 24. Coming at $525, they’re more of a collectible than proper game uniforms.

The two numbers will be retired on December 18, when the Los Angles Lakers will host Steph Curry and his Golden State Warriors. The occasion will coincide with the release of the two jerseys, an unmissable opportunity for every Kobe Bryant supporter to celebrate one of the best basketball players ever.
