Mike Cherman x Nike: Art Basel 2017 shooter shirt The american designer portrays a graphic of Ray Allen's shoot

For the Art Basel in Miami Beach Nike commissioned to Mike Cherman to design a special shirt for the fair. Cherman - owner of the brand Chinatown Market - decided to catch the chance to celebrate the most know shooter in NBA's history: Ray Allen. The LA-based designer hand-drew the visual and then printed it on the tee using three-dimensional puff ink.

This year for Art Basel I was commissioned by @nike to create a limited edition t-shirt available exclusively in Miami Beach. Utilizing my go-to print techniques I took my favorite photo of Ray Allen's shooting form and hand drew the sequence, printing it in 3D Puff ink for effect. From there I added detailing of 3M Reflective in homage to my ICNY beginnings. On the back I added a quote that resonates to me in sport and in life and on the left hip I made my own bootleg hand drawn version of the classic NIKE woven label. The whole shirt is then printed with an all over fire digital print for added heat. Thanks for the opportunity @dustinocanalin If you want one, i have 24 shirts to give away - tell me why you want one in the comments, I'll ship it for free.

Additionally, he added 3M reflective details to commemorate his former ICNY imprint. For the back portion, Cherman added a personal quote in tonal black expressing “Everyone wants to be the shooter but nobody like to pass the ball.” The quote “resonates to me in sport and in life,” stated Cherman in the caption.
