Tonight the Charlotte Hornets will wear for the first time in the season their a classic jersey designed by Nike bringing back the design worn by the original Charlotte Hornets from their inception in 1988 through 1997. The uniform will have "Charlotte" across the front of the teal jersey and includes the familiar crossover V-neck and multicolored pinstripes in royal blue, light blue, purple and green. A noticeable difference between the two is the thickness of the pinstripes. From the available image, the new uniform appears to have thicker vertical lines than the original.

Like the white Association and teal Icon editions released earlier this year, the uniform features the logo of Nike's Jordan Brand. The team announced the uniform through a promotional video that reflects on the meaning of “classic”, and ends with the unveiling. It features Dwayne Bacon and Cody Zeller.
