Colombia Women's team is furious with adidas Because their new shirt was presented by a model instead of player

adidas presented last week many of the kits that will be the protagonist of the World Cup. As usual, football players were the protagonist of the shooting and for the Colombian team, Juan Cuadrado and James Rodriguez were chosen to represent a model with the new shirt. For the unveiling of the female kit adidas did not choose any player from the team but instead the model and ex-Miss Univers Paulina Vega Dieppa.

Despite twice finishing as runners-up in the Copa America Femenina, the Colombian team was overlooked for the shirt unveiling and the Colombia goalkeeper, Vanessa Cordoba, took to social media to address the situation. She wrote a firm statement on Twitter to condemn adidas choice:

I have nothing against Adidas, and I acknowledge that football belongs to everyone, whether they play or not. I also appreciate that they gave the shirt to a successful and influential woman for advertising purposes. However, in terms of respect and merit, one of the players should have received it first. It's fine that they include celebrities to help promote football, I just don't agree that Paulina Vega should wear the shirt before, say, Catalina Usme.
