Finally, after talking about that for more than two years, the stylistic revolution of the NBA has come. After many years of partnership with adidas in fact, the Association presented the first jersey realized by Nike that, on the basis of the 8-year contract signed in 2017, will take care of realizing the uniform of the franchises in the next seasons. Yesterday, the first jersey made by the Swoosh, the reigning champions Golden State Warriors’ one, has been presented.

The first, massive revolution brought by Nike concerns the materials, that are very attentive to the saving of the planet. The jerseys, in fact, have been realized with a combination of Alpha Yarns and recycled polyester, which not only allows the Oregon company to help the planet - each uniform represents approximately 20 recycled plastic bottles - but also removes moisture more quickly than ever.

The new NIKE NBA shirts have been realized with a refined version of the Aeroswift technology, informed by more than 25 years of experience and work on all levels of basketball. A very important role has been played by the players, that thanks to their feedback allowed Nike to evolve the design, to let the new uniforms - significantly changed in the weight, the fit, and the compound - reflect all the needs of the NBA superstars.

There’s also a change for the “versions” of the uniforms, that won’t be called “Home” and “Road” anymore, creating a renewed series of “Editions”. The Association Edition will be the traditional white uniform, that represents players and franchises’ sense of belonging to the league. The Icon Edition will represent the tradition and heritage of the single teams, and will utilize the club’s primary colors. There will also be the uniform inspired by the mindset of the NBA athlete, and the one inspired by the communities that support the teams. Both - alongside with a bunch of “Classic” versions - will be presented in the next months.

So, the revolution hit also the NBA, which always made a strength out of merchandising of any kind, both in economic and iconic terms. After the introduction of the sponsors’ badge, now we can see the new uniforms with our own eyes. We just have to witness all the things done by the athletes that will wear them.
