Two new sponsor patches on NBA uniforms

Day after day, the process of sponsorship of the NBA jerseys keeps going. The next season, in fact, will be revolutionary for the American league’s merchandise, not only for the change of supplier - Nike will replace adidas after several years - but also for the introduction for the first time of sponsor patches on the front side of the uniforms.

We already spoke, for example, about the deal between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Goodyear, and about others. In the last few hours, two franchises put their names on the list, becoming the seventh and eight teams in the league to sing a sponsorship deal for their jerseys. We’re talking about the Orlando Magic and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The franchise from Florida, in particular, signed a very… Magic deal, as on its jersey it will appear the Disney logo, that has one of its biggest theme parks right in Orlando.

A little less romantic, but still very important, the Timberwolves’ deal considers a contract with Fitbit, a San Francisco-based company that produces ‘activity trackers’ for fitness lovers. There aren’t any official pieces of information yet, but it looks like the deals will last for all the trial period for the patch initiative, that would be three years. To see the sponsor on Minnesota’s shirts, though, we have to wait for a couple of weeks more, as the T-Wolves hasn’t revealed their new jerseys yet.
