Back to 1998 with Steph Morris' drawings The London-based artist realized a stunning replica of England's 1998 World Cup jersey

It could just look like an England jersey laid on the table. Beautiful, all the Three Lions’ jerseys are, with those iconic features that always characterized the football’s inventors’ shirts. It could like a proper football jersey. Retro, in this case, as it’s the Umbro kit, realized for the English national team for the 1998 World Cup in France. White, with red and blue details and the Three Lions’ big logo in plain sight in the center of the shirt. Which really looks true, but it isn’t.

Because putting aside all the memories of Shearer, Beckham, Michael Owen, and all the others, you can realize that in fact, you’re looking at a drawing, so well-realized to look real in every aspect. This is Steph Morris’ work, a London-based artist that has the passion for every item related to the popular culture, also through sports. On her site (this one) you can find everything, from the Nike Air More Uptempo to the Vans Old Skool, to various pairs of Jordans and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Mercurials.

In this case, Steph worked with the 1998 England’s kit, reproducing it with obsessive care for all its details, a characteristic of all her works. A nice throwback for all the English football enthusiasts, that always remembers that time gladly, even if its path ended in the last-sixteen against Argentina.
