A Telfar fashion show is never just a fashion show.
Telfar Clemens shows are often accompanied by high-level artistic and musical performances, such as those of Dev Haynes or Kelela. «It's the most boring thing to go to a fashion show. I don't even go to them. I can't even tell you the last show I went to. What's the point? It's boring”, Clemens told Vogue. The show presented at Pitti was no exception: the presentation of the SS20, held in the Palazzo Corsini space, was accompanied by the performances Crystallmess and Hirakish. In the hours preceding the show, a possible Solange performance was sung - present at the show - but then did not materialize. The connections between the Houston artist and the Clemens brand are moreover elaborate, and they pass from the revival of the imaginary black cowboy undertaken in recent years both by Telfar on the catwalks and by Solange in "When I Get Home", his last album.

The Florence show instead showed yet another step of the brand in pursuit of the goal of breaking down the barriers between the world of fashion and daily clothing, the use of jeans, sweatshirts and an aesthetic that goes beyond genders and race, defining the canons of the new American normality.
