Apple could create an electric car with Hyundai The confirmation came directly from the car manufacturer
UPDATE 01.11.21: After the news circulated at the end of last year, today Hyundai Motors has announced that it is in preliminary talks with Apple for the development of an electric car. “We understand that Apple is in discussion with a variety of global automakers, including Hyundai Motor. As the discussion is at its early stage, nothing has been decided,” a representative of the South Korean company told CNBC. According to a report published by the Korea Economic Daily, the agreement would include both the development of a new battery and the car, expected on the market for 2027.

12.22.20: By 2024, Apple could produce its first self-driving car including revolutionary new battery technology. According to Reuters, Project Titan started in 2014, when Apple began designing its first car from scratch before stopping work to focus on other goals. But in 2018, with the return of former Tesla employee Doug Field and the hiring of 190 employees, the project is back more alive than ever.

Apple's goal is to create a vehicle designed for consumers, a product that ideally should rival Tesla and Waymo, the unmanned robot-taxi of Alphabet Inc. At the centre of the project, however, remains the new battery capable of reducing the battery costs while increasing their autonomy.

Although Apple declined to comment on the news, it remains to be understood how the Cupertino giant will manage the eventual production of its car. If it took Elon Musk 17 years to perfect his Tesla, some say Apple could outsource the production to a second company while others say it could end up integrating its system into a car made by someone else.
