His career in the world of music seems like a distant memory for Pharrell, an increasingly well-rounded entrepreneur. In addition to the centuries-old partnership with adidas and the launch, and the immediate sold-out, of his skincare line, Pharrell Williams has decided to begin a new chapter in his career with the Black Ambition project

Created to support Black and Latinx entrepreneurs, the initiative will support projects and start-ups in the fields of technology, design, healthcare and consumer products, with the aim of eliminating the lack of diversity in many sectors key industry roles. "When you think about the plight of blacks and people of colour, there are many injustices within the system. They affect us with limited access to education, healthcare, justice and representation," Pharrell said explaining the reasons behind the project.

The project foresees one million dollar for the newly founded companies and 250,000 dollars for students and graduates from the HBCU, historically Black colleges and universities. Each category will also include a series of smaller sums for the other candidates. While the submissions opened yesterday, the first phase of the project will end in July next year, when the finalists will be able to present their projects in front of the jury and the finalists will be announced. The winners will have the support of a long list of partners, including adidas and Chanel. Virgil Abloh is instead the author of the logo.
