Google wants you to shop on YouTube The war on Amazon has begun

After Amazon and Alibaba, the next giant of online shopping could be YouTube. The platform has already started asking its creators to use internal software to tag the products used in their videos, then redirecting the viewer directly to Google to complete the purchase.

The goal is to turn the
YouTube library into a huge online shopping catalog, giving creators the ability to choose which items to tag and make available for purchase. The news was confirmed by a YouTube spokesperson, who is also currently working on an integration with Shopify to make the experience even more complete.

At the moment it is not clear how YouTube will generate profits from this initiative, but one of the most credible hypotheses is that the program can make up for the decline in creators' entry due to the decrease in advertising.
