Daft Punk To Score The New Dario Argento Film (Or Maybe Not) The Master of Horror returns to cinema with the thriller 'Black Glasses'

Daft Punk will work on the soundtrack for the latest film by Dario ArgentoBlack Glasses. The director himself confirmed it during an interview: "It will be my return to crime films, so I don't want to spoil it. It’s the adventure, in a nocturnal Rome, of a Chinese girl and child" he told. Argento is worldwide famous for some real cults in the history of horror cinema, such as Deep Red and Suspiria; earlier this year, Massimo Giorgetti paid homage to his legacy featuring its movies in the MSGM FW2020 collection. It's been 8 years since his last set (Dracula 3D); this film will mark the return on the big screen of his daughter, actress Asia Argento.

Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, mostly known as Daft Punk, have always been great fans of Argento's works. That's why they couldn't miss the chance to work with him.

They are my admirers, they know all my cinema. They heard from French friends that I was shooting a new film and called me [to say], ‘We want to work with you. We catch up a lot, they keep telling me that they're working on the first songs. They'll come to Rome as soon as it's possible

The love that the director has for electronic music is clear since his first films: one can't forget his collaboration with Goblin, who composed the psychedelic soundtrack of Deep Red. On the same spot, it's not the first time that Daft Punk works on a soundtrack: back in 2010, they composed the one of Tron: Legacy

The film was supposed to start shooting on May, but the production has been postponed to September due to the COVID-19 emergency.
