Fashion Film Festival Milano returns in November with its sixth edition

Giorgio Armani will be the president of the jury

Fashion Film Festival Milano returns in November with its sixth edition Giorgio Armani will be the president of the jury

Over the last few years, the already strong bond between fashion and cinema became even tighter, an evolution that Fashion Film Festival Milan has been following closely, and to which it even contributed actively.

Founded in 2014 by Costanza Cavalli Etro with the aim of portraying fashion through movies, the event has now arrived in its sixth edition, which this year sees a change in the calendar. While the festival usually takes place at the same time as the Milan Fashion Week, this year FFF will be held in November. It's clear the intention of moving away from the shows and presentations of the fashion week, to conquer an even larger and more prominent position in the Italian and European fashion landscape.

This year the festival has decided to focus even more on two of its most important projects. #FFFMilanoForWomen, now at its third year, consists of screenings and talks with the aim of highlighting and empowering female creativity, getting to know better the realities that are already operating in this regard.

The second topic is #FFFMilanoForGreen. Strong of last year's result, the focus on the culture and fashion sustainability continues with new activities and events. Once again it will be present the category Best Green Fashion Film, conceived to promote who stood out in the industry thanks to sustainable initiatives.

This year the president of the jury will be Giorgio Armani, the designer that more than anyone else shares a special bond with the world of cinema.

Along with Armani there will be Cass Bird, a photographer; Oskar Metsavath, founder of the Brazilian brand Osklen; Waris Dirie, top model and advocate for human rights; Ezra Petronio, founder and Creative Director of Petronio Associates, Editor-in-Chief of Self Service and photographer; Cristiana Capotondi, actress, founder and producer of Fuoricinema; Vicente Todolì, artistic director of Pirelli HangarBicocca; Angelo Flaccavento, fashion critic; Sissy Vian, Fashion Editor-at-Large of Vogue Japan. The jury will select the winners of 16 categories divided into two sections: Established Talent & New Talent. The new entry of this year's edition is the category Best New Italian Designer/Brand that will award the best emerging Italian brand or designer.

The great protagonists will be of course the films, more than 200 fashion films in the official selection, coming from more than 50 countries and selected among more than 1000 submissions. The guests will be great names of Italian and international fashion, along with designers, emerging directors, as well as icons of cinema, fashion and art, with the likes of Prada, Chanel, Gucci, Stella McCartney, Givenchy, Balenciaga, Miu Miu, Luca Guadagnino, Suki Waterhouse, Wim Wenders, and many others.
