The display of Samsung's Galaxy Fold has some issues Many journalists have reported breakages and malfunctions

Samsung’s Galaxy Fold will hit the stores only on April 26 (in Italy on May 3 priced 2,050 euros), but already have some design issues. In these hours negative feedbacks about the review units multiply. In an article on The Verge the journalist Dieter Bohn explains how the 7.4-inch Oled display of his phone broke after only a day of use. He specifies:

“Whatever happened, it certainly wasn’t because I have treated this phone badly. I’ve done normal phone stuff, like opening and closing the hinge and putting it in my pocket.”

The reporter describes some bulges under the screen, in the area of the hinge, deforming the device. Two of his colleagues, from Bloomberg and CNBC, tweeted images confirming that half of the display doesn’t work. The disastrous result is in this case due to the removal of a film that many people thought was a screen protector, while, instead, is an integral part of the flexible screen. Samsung specified this in a statement:

“The main display on the Galaxy Fold features a top protective layer, which is part of the display structure designed to protect the screen from unintended scratches. Removing the protective layer or adding adhesives to the main display may cause damage. We will ensure this information is clearly delivered to our customers.”

Launched in February by the Korean company after 8 years of work, the first folding smartphone to reach the market has its weaknesses between screen and hinge. Will Samsung be able to fix the issue and avoid the historical flop due to the Note 7's inflammable battery?
