'Daria' is about to return A revival of the 90s cult series is in the works

Daria is about to return.

The popular 90s cartoon will come back in a reboot thanks to Mtv Studios, a new production company that will focus above all on remakes of the network's cult series.

The project, entitled Daria & Jodie, will bring back the adventures of Daria Morgendorffer, the realistic girl with the sharpest humour, who from 1997 to 2002 conquered millions of fans all over the world, flanked not only by BFF Jane, but also by her friend Jodie Landon

"one of the most important television personalities of the 90s" JL to Buzzfeed

According to the first synopsis

"these two young women will target the world with their satirical voice, deconstructing pop culture, social classes, sex and races".

Behind the new stories of the most cynical ante litteram hipster on TV, there will be Grace Edwards, author of series with a feminist touch like Broad City and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Among the other scheduled productions of MTV Studios there will be a re-doing of Aeon Flux by the creator of Teen Wolf Jeff Davis and a revival of the iconic format The Real World.

A curiosity: on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the series, Susie Lewis together with the designer Karen Disher imagined what the characters of Daria could look today, illustrations published in March 2017 by Entertainment Weekly.
