Instagram launches video calls, new filters, integration with Spotify …and much more

A shower of new features coming to Instagram.

During the opening keynote of Facebook F8 2018, two days for developers of the social network in California, Mark Zuckerberg announced a series of innovations, available since the next update: video calls, new filters, integration with Spotify, anti-bullying filter and much else.

First of all, the "Explore" function will be perfected, which will be equipped with an artificial intelligence to suggest a series of contents more similar to the interests of the users of the social network.

Then, finally, video-chat will arrive, both individual and group, perhaps the most awaited function. To use it, just go to Direct and select the contact you want to call.

If you use Spotify or the GoPro app, just press the respective share buttons to send your content to the Instagram Stories. The integration of Spotify allows you to share a "sticker" of songs, playlists or albums that you are listening to, with a link to play music; while that of GoPro also offers the possibility to quickly reboot and cut the video in the portion you want to share.

As for the list of filters for Stories and masks in real time, this is bound to grow thanks to the ability to create many new unique filters from other companies.

Zuckerberg also thinks about protecting younger users and launches an anti-bullying filtering: from now on the comments will be obscured with an offensive character, especially those accused of bullying, thanks to new recognition algorithms.
