Paris Saint Germain could change stadium

Paris Saint Germain could change stadium This was confessed by President Nasser Al-Khelaifi in an interview in Doha

'Paris deserves a better stadium,' were the words Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of PSG, in an interview in Doha reported by Bloomberg and opening up new scenarios for one of the most innovative clubs in the world. No new stadium though, Paris Saint-Germain is considering leaving the Parc des Princes and moving to the Stade de France, which is located in Saint-Denis, about 8 km from the centre of Paris. It is the largest facility in the country, and one of the largest in Europe, in terms of capacity, being able to accommodate more than 81,000 spectators, and because of its large capacity, the Parisian team is ready for a big change.

"My first option is not to move. But the city of Paris is pushing us to move'.

The French club has played in its current stadium since 1974 and the president said the club is in talks with its owner, the city of Paris, although a renovation seems very difficult at the moment. The Parc des Princes is one of the largest facilities in France that can seat around 47,000 people, but it is an old stadium that was built in 1972 and still has an athletics track even though it has been increasingly hidden over time. That of moving to the Stade de France does not seem to be the only option on the table at the moment, however, the president said during the interview that he has three other options and certainly one of them could be to build a tailor-made stadium for Paris to complete and fine-tune the revolution that began years ago at the Parisian club.
