Sónar festival Barcelona 2019 announces its first names Skepta & Disclosure among others are coming

Within the realms of music festivals for more experimental and avant-garde music, Sónar festival really stands alone in its scope, size, and history. The festival originally from Barcelona has over its 25 years spread events across 5 continents in more than 20 cities, while the Barcelona location remains in many ways the definitive edition. nss recently sat down to chat with one of the main people behind the festival, Georgia Taglietti and we’ve since been patiently waiting to release the first names of this year's festival. That time has come and we can now reveal the first names of this years line up and let us just say it is rather serious.

Sónar Barcelona 2019 presents grime icon Skepta, a new dj show by Disclosure and the eagerly awaited live show from Paul Kalkbrenner.

Also joining the line up: the new audiovisual shows by Actress, Deena Abdelwahed and Lotic, exciting frontier pushing concerts from Nicola Cruz and K Á R Y Y N, DJ sets by heavyweights Dixon, Floating Points (with a 6 hour set), Maya Jane Coles, Amelie Lens, Andy C, Artwork, Blawan & Dax J, and shows by Ross From Friends, Bad Gyal and Octavian.

This year Sónar will be shifting for the first time from its standard June slot to July, happening this year over the 18th, 19th and 20th of July 2019. Going both day and night, this years edition won't be one to miss.
