Maroon 5 and Cardi B's Protest

"Girls Like You" delivers a strong message

Maroon 5 and Cardi B's Protest Girls Like You delivers a strong message
Girls Like You is the third single released from Maroon 5's album, Red Pill Blues, and contains a Cardi B featuring.

In the video, directed by David Dobkin, we see a bare stage, very minimal, with the front man of the band at the center of the scene: Adam Levine. Every time the framing changes, a different woman (actually they're all superstars) is behind Adam: Sarah Silverman, Gal Gadot, Lily Singh, Amani Al-Khatahtbeh, Trace Lysette, Tiffany Haddish, Angy Rivera, Franchesca Ramsey, the actress Millie Bobby Brown, the host Ellen DeGeneres, the gymnast Aly Raisman, Jennifer Lopez, Chloe Kim, Alex Morgan, Mary J. Blige, Beanie Feldstein, Jackie Fielder, Danica Patrick, Ilhan Omar, Elizabeth Banks, Ashley Graham and Rita Ora.

The clothing worn by the various celebrities in the video carries different messages representing many situations of social justice and identity. For example, Angy Rivera of the New York State Executive Council for Young People, advocate for immigrants' rights, wears a t-shirt of her organization with the phrase Undocumented Unafraid Unapologetic on it. Umani Al-Khatahbeh is wearing a hat with the muslimgirl.com quote on it, an organization that fights for an honest and open discussion about Islam in today's society, while the Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman wears an Always speak your truth t-shirt.

The clip ends with Adam's wife, supermodel Behati Prinsloo and their first daughter, Dusty Rose.

Maroon 5 have recently started their tour in America and we hope to see them live in Italy very soon.
