In response to the emergency situation that hit Emilia-Romagna, the Kering Group on behalf of its Maisons (Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Brioni, Pomellato, Boucheron, Qeelin and Kering Eyewear) has made a donation in support of efforts to deal with the damage caused by the flood. Regional President Stefano Bonaccini wished to thank Kering, speaking of «another sign of the great solidarity that was immediately underway everywhere in favor of communities so hard hit.»

Kering was not alone in moving to support Emilia-Romagna. In recent days, Ferrari, whose headquarters are located in Maranello in the province of Modena, also donated one million euros to the Emilia-Romagna Civil Defense. The entire region, at the moment still submerged in mud and grappling with the consequences of a real natural disaster, is home to numerous fashion and beauty brands, such as the Max Mara group and Zanotti.

Massimo Giorgetti, founder and creative director of MSGM, also expressed sadness over what happened in his region, urging not only to donate but above all to open our eyes to what happened and its true causes: «In the meantime, however, let's decide whether to tackle the problem once and for all, locally and globally. No one is safe; we all have to deal with an emergency that, if we do not act now, will become continuous. We can still decide to open our eyes and change our attitude. To understand, to read and study, to become aware of what is happening. To act differently at the individual level and at the political level. And to stop calling it bad weather.»
