Does MFW still work? What is missing for MFW to become what it once was?In a world that changes so quickly, can MFW stay anchored to outdated paradigms?MFW needs to become democratic, to open its spaces to everyone and give people who come to Milan for fashion a real reason to stay in the city. Not just shows, the only thing that seems to be left of MFW, but a mix of initiatives, presentations and opportunities for connection that bring back the idea of fashion as something important and essential for the city.

From this need comes Fuorimoda: to overturn the exclusive logic of the most glamorous week of the year and make it accessible to all. Starting September 22 and throughout Fashion Week, nss edicola in Piazza Bruno Buozzi will once again become the meeting point for the nss community, with a program that combines entertainment and sharing with an opening party, the launch of the digital platform Fuorimoda Reviews to review live shows, new dedicated merchandise and a camera available to anyone who wants to share their thoughts on MFW and the fashion system.

Since the launch of Beyond Fashion in 2023, nss has supported independent and emerging brands and challenged the dogmas of the system to build a new one. With Fuorimoda, the Beyond Fashion journey continues, this time rejecting the exclusive and “out of fashion” structure of Fashion Week and transforming it into an event open to all. The square becomes a place of exchange, Milan leaves behind snobbery and pretension and begins to listen to the new generations. An invitation to reflect on the true role of fashion in the city’s economy and on its necessary evolution.
