GucciLouis VuittonYeezy. And now Valentino. The relationship between fashion and Vanessa Beecroft continues, with a collaboration with the Italian brand for the launch of the brand’s pre-fall Rockstud Untitled line.

The capsule collection is inspired by the Japanese Wabi-sabi philosophy, the perfect imperfection, that cultivates the idea that nothing lasts, nothing is finished, nothing is perfect. It's a unisex collection of classic pieces, packed in a canvas satchel with gold stud trim and numbered from 1 to 12: trench coats, round neck sweaters, peacoats, white shirts.

«Asking Vanessa to interpret this idea of ours was almost automatic: no one better than her, with an extremely strong and contemporary approach is able to merge, through her art, the concepts of beauty, reality, perfection and uniqueness/diversity. In her performance, different individuals, clothed in ‘uniform’ items, come together in a shared moment that is lived singularly portraying their personal beauty belief» Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, creative directors of the brand, said.

The result is a performance, staged on April 10 at the New York Academy of Art, with a group of 25 men and women, including actress Emily Mortimer and her husband Alessandro Nivola, model Nicolas Malleville and others found with a street-casting.

Images and videos of the event are transformed into a visual installation that will hit Valentino stores and online spaces.
