Barrie and Damien Hirst unveil an exclusive capsule collection The knitwear brand engages with the British artist's visual world for a line of "collectible fashion"
Barrie and Damien Hirst come together in a new capsule collection that brings contemporary art directly into the wardrobe. The result is a seven-piece collection in cashmere, gender-neutral and conceived as true collector's items, where the British artist's iconography merges with the Scottish maison's savoir-faire.
At the heart of the collaboration are two of Hirst's most recognisable motifs, Spots and Butterflies, this time reinterpreted through knitwear. The patterns, faithful to the fundamental principles that have always defined the artist's practice, shift in scale and material, moving from the surface of canvas to the softness of cashmere. Barrie, a maison historically rooted in cashmere craftsmanship, translates Hirst's motifs through a savoir-faire built on technique and attention to detail.
Every piece in the capsule is made entirely in cashmere and numbered from 1 to 100 for each colourway. The underlying logic is that of collectible fashion: not simply something to wear, but a piece to keep. With Barrie x Damien Hirst, art and fashion once again cease to inhabit separate worlds: a collaboration that speaks the language of luxury, yet with the attitude of those who know that today a garment can also be a work of art.
