The new adrenaline-fuelled collaboration between Prada Luna Rossa and Red Bull With a wingsuit for pilot Peter Salzmann

Prada Linea Rossa has renewed its collaboration with Red Bull, continuing a partnership developed over recent years within the brand’s sports projects. The latest chapter focuses on the achievement of Austrian wingsuit pilot Peter Salzmann, who tested a new type of flight in El Hierro, the smallest and westernmost island of the Canary archipelago. The aim was to explore a more controlled and technically advanced approach to wingsuit flying, a discipline that continues to evolve through individual experimentation and extreme challenges.
For the project, a dedicated suit was developed to provide greater stability and precision. Wearing it, Salzmann was able to take advantage of the updrafts generated along a mountain ridge, maintaining level flight and even gaining altitude. The athlete carefully balanced the descent phase and executed tight turns to preserve lift, demonstrating that gliding flight is achievable even with moderate wind conditions, without relying on strong gusts. At the peak of the experiment, Salzmann reached an altitude of 67 meters, comparable to a 20-story building, a remarkable result for this type of activity.
Prada Linea Rossa supplied the technical equipment used during the test, focusing on high-performance materials designed to withstand significant aerodynamic stress. The brand’s approach was to adapt functional accessories and components to the needs of the body in motion, ensuring lightness, protection and adherence.
Commenting on the experiment, Salzmann emphasized how the collaboration made it possible to push beyond previous technical limits. The partnership between Prada Linea Rossa and Red Bull therefore continues with the aim of supporting athletes involved in high-risk challenges with strong innovative potential, following a path that combines sporting experimentation, technological research and a focus on performance.
