Moncler Grenoble Fall 2012 Show

Giochi di luci colorate e una cornice di ghiaccio. Moncler Grenoble  in scena al Wollmann Rink a Central Park. La celebre pista di pattinaggio, vera icona cinematografica, vede protagonisti uomini e donne, atleti professionisti, che indossano pattinando i capi della nuova collezione autunno inverno 2012/13. Divisi in tre gruppi monocromatici si esibiscono in una suggestiva danza sul  ghiaccio di pattinaggio artistico sincronizzato. Movimenti ideati da Luam, coreografa di celebrities come Beyonce, Rihanna, Kelly Rowland, Britney Spears. La colonna sonora dal vivo è affidata ad un’orchestra di musicisti newyorkesi. 

La collezione

La rivoluzione della plastica nelle forme visionarie di Joe Colombo. La duttilità grafica di questo nuovo materiale negli arredi immaginati da Vico Magistretti. La sperimentazione con l’utilizzo di vinili e tessuti plastici della couture francese che negli anni 60 si ispirava al mondo sportivo e tecnico dello sci. Insieme a uno stile space age alla Kubrick di Odissea 2001. Design, moda, cinema. La verve creativa dei ’60 dove tutto si intreccia e ogni invenzione è possibile. È la matrice della nuova e sofisticata estetica, che percorre la collezione Moncler Grenoble autunno inverno 2012/13.  Volumi cocoon nella parte femminile. Capispalla disegnati come gusci protettivi in naplak, materiale tipico delle borse sixties. Lucido, mosso e materico, rappresenta l’evoluzione dello storico laqué Moncler. Inserti in PVC trasparente lasciano intravedere l’imbottitura interna, dando una nota futuribile al classico duvet. I colori sono neutri e richiamano la montagna. Ghiaccio, pietra, neve. Unico contrasto il navy e il rosso fiamma. L’outfit della stagione accosta ai volumi arrotondati dei sopra, le linee asciutte dei pantaloni, tutti in tessuti stretch. E accanto ai materiali tecnici, nelle giacche e nei giubbotti esplode il gusto esuberante, quasi esibito, della pelliccia. Fenomeno di costume dell’epoca che Moncler Grenoble interpreta con eleganza. Pellicce anticonvenzionali come finn raccoon, volpe argentina e alpaca, capra leggerissima effetto mongolia spesso mescolate con i nylon, le lane, gli inserti in pelle e in cordura. Secondo un linguaggio patch molto in voga nei ’60, ma condiviso fin dai suoi esordi anche da Moncler Grenoble. Anche nel tricot hand made la lana, compatta e punto stuoia, o molto ricca e  lavorata a punto pelliccia, è protagonista nei capi più caldi e protettivi della collezione.Nel guardaroba maschile, dove tornano blu navy, bianco neve e rosso fiamma, insieme a cacao, asfalto e cammello, grande attenzione alle performance tecniche. Anche qui capi in lana, lavorata a mano o ad intarsio, a richiamare i pullover fatti in casa, ma accoppiata internamente con uno strato in pile per risultare antifreddo e antiacqua anche sulla neve. E ancora, lane scozzesi, flanelle e tweed, ultrafunzionali grazie a speciali membrane e termosaldature. Nei modelli più active, tessuti giapponesi ad alte prestazioni, come il nylon trilaminato per il giubbotto da tempesta.  Ricche imbottiture in piuma d’oca e volumi a uovo, studiati per essere leggeri e agevolare i movimenti. Inserti rinforzati in cordura sulle spalle, dove si appoggiano gli sci, e nei punti di maggiore usura. Come i capispalla, anche i pantaloni hanno tagli morbidi e avvolgenti. In lana a spina di pesce, con membrane protettive interne e applicazioni in cordura.Anche negli accessori Moncler Grenoble si diverte a mescolare materiali e stili diversi. I doposci femminili imbottiti sono rivestiti in naplak, oppure in lana  impermeabile e tweed. Fra le proposte maschili, gli scarponcini da trekking con elementi tratti dalle sneaker, abbinano nylon, suede e gomma.

A coloured light show amid an icy setting. Moncler Grenoble takes the stage at the Wollman Rink in Central Park. This famous skating rink, which is a star in its own right, will be showcasing the talents of male and female professional athletes sporting garments from the new 2012/13 Autumn/Winter collection as they skate. Divided into three monochrome teams, they will perform an impressive synchronized skating performance on the ice, their movements created by Luam, choreographer to celebrities such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kelly Rowland, and Britney Spears. An orchestra of New York musicians will provide the live soundtrack. 

The collection

The plastic revolution in visionary forms reference Joe Colombo; the graphic ductility of this new material in the furnishings envisioned by Vico Magistretti; experiments with the use of vinyl and plastic fabrics borrowed from French couture, which in the 1960s was inspired by the technical sporting world of skiing. All combined with a space-age style that pays homage to Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. Design, fashion and cinema - the creative verve of the ’60s where everything was intertwined and any innovation seemed possible. This is the milieu of the new, sophisticated look that characterizes the Moncler Grenoble autumn/winter collection 2012/13. Women’s garments are snug and form a cocoon like silhouette around the figure. Coats and jackets are designed as protective shells in Naplak, a classic material used for bags in the sixties. Glossy, lively and substantial, it is the evolution of the celebrated Moncler Laque. Transparent PVC inserts allow a glimpse of the inner padding, which offers a subtle, futuristic effect to the classic puffer jackets. The colour palette is neutral and conjures up a vision of mountains with hues of ice, stone and snow. Contrasting colours appear in navy blue and bright red. The must-have look of the season is a rounded shape on top seen in the coats and jackets paired with sleek trousers in stretch fabrics. Alongside the technical materials, the jackets and coats revel in an exuberant, slightly ostentatious showing of fur. Moncler Grenoble stylishly interprets this phenomenon of period costume. Unorthodox furs such as Finn raccoon, Argentine grey fox, alpaca, and the lightest Mongoliaeffect goatskin are often combined with nylon, wool, and inserts in leather and Cordura fabric. They speak the language of patches that were fashionable in the ‘60s - also an aesthetic shared by Moncler Grenoble, right from the brands origin. In the handmade knitwear, whether a small gauge, loose knit or ornately loop-stitched piece, wool is the key player in the warmest and most protective fiber of each garment.For the men’s collection, navy blue, snow white and fire engine red make their return to complement cocoa, anthracite and camel, displaying the meticulous attention that is paid to technical performance. As seen in other areas of the collection, hand-worked or inlaid wool garments evoke the feeling of homemade pullovers, that are coupled with a fleece lining so that they are cosy to the touch yet waterproof even in the snow. There are Scottish wools, flannels and tweeds, all ultra-practical thanks to their special heat welding and membranes. For the more active garments, high-performance Japanese fabrics are used, such as Tri-laminate nylon in the storm jacket. Abundant padding in goose down and egg-shaped volumes are designed to be light without restricting movement. Reinforced inserts in Cordura are added to the shoulders, where skis are carried, and in the areas that suffer the most wear. Coats, jackets and trousers also feature snug and enveloping cuts.
