Valentino to show its next collection at Milan's Piccolo Teatro Pierpaolo Piccioli pays homage to Milan, its culture and the great figure of Giorgio Strehler

On the occasion of Valentino's next FW21 show, which will close the next Milan Fashion Week, Pierpaolo Piccioli has decided to pay homage to the Italian cultural scene by choosing Milan's Piccolo Teatro as the location of the show. The project also wants to bring attention back to the theatres and places of Italian culture that have been closed for months. The brand's creative director told WWD

We need culture to be alive and we need to talk about it. Teatro Piccolo di Milano embodies the perfect symbol of all values our brand stands for, it is a place of inclusivity and freedom. This is a first step, and even if it won’t be open to the public, it will give I hope, the idea that we are all going in the right direction.

Founded in 1947 by Paolo Grassi and the legendary actor Giorgio Strehler, who over the course of his career directed and supervised over 200 pieces, the Piccolo Teatro di Milano represented for decades the main outpost of the European avant-garde theatre, with the inclusive aim of bringing theatrical art to a new and more popular audience, without excluding anyone. In conjunction with the show, the theatre will digitize and catalogue the archive of its atelier, which includes over 10,000 objects, to make it accessible and accessible by the public.

Valentino's FW21 show will be held on March 1st and will be visible through the brand's social channels and on its official website.
