From the Everest to Milan: FILA's homage to the 70s White Rock collection

The line that originated the gorpcore trend returns interpreted by four unique talents

From the Everest to Milan: FILA's homage to the 70s White Rock collection The line that originated the gorpcore trend returns interpreted by four unique talents

The history of every great fashion brand is a layered mosaic made up of brilliant intuitions, unexpected moments, special encounters and an undeniable hunch for the future, in a patchwork of inspirations, bonds and aesthetics difficult to identify.

FILA has always boasted a very special relationship with the world of sport, with which it has created memorable collections that have left a mark on the stylistic (and sporting) landscape. In the 70s, the meeting between Enrico Franchey, General Manager of FILA, and Reinhold Messner led the legendary mountaineer to become the face of the new collection of the brand, dedicated to the outdoor world, the FILA White Rock line. Messner became the first man to climb the Everest without an oxygen mask, while FILA was the absolute pioneer of a trend, that of gorpcore, that is now synonymous with a new vision of fashion that combines functionality and aesthetics.

The same hiking inspiration, that adds an unprecedented interpretation to classic winter wardrobe staples, lives on today in the collection that makes the White Rock line its main source of inspiration. For the Fall/Winter 2020 collection, in fact, FILA makes down jackets, fleece and workwear-inspired pants the essential items for a winter uniform that goes beyond its origins, expanding thanks to a metropolitan twist.

Completing the collection is the new outdoor-inspired unisex sneaker FILA Trail-R20, a unique silhouette that combines great functionality and comfort by mixing rip-stop materials with suede details.

It is precisely against the background of Milan's urban nature that the collection comes to life in the images of this editorial. Four exceptional talents - singers Maryam and Uale, rapper Axos and content creator Arianna Canali model the new FILA line, underlining its adaptability and eclecticism, which make it the go-to solution to face the winter.

In Milan as on Everest.
