The new 2-in-1 Converse by Feng Chen Wang

Two is better than one

The new 2-in-1 Converse by Feng Chen Wang Two is better than one

For her latest collaboration with Converse, Chinese designer Feng Chen Wang explored a new concept: turning two shoes into one. Wang's compositional creativity had already emerged two years ago, on the occasion of the first collaboration with the American brand: the designer had in fact received over 30 pairs of the sneaker that had then been deconstructed and recomposed with hand-applied finishes. A concept that, after Feng Chen Wang's SS19 fashion show, had been subjected to the concert work of both brands to bring the designer's bold concept to a wider audience. The result of this research and design process was the new model of Converse Chuck 70 2-in-1

The new Chuck 70 2-in-1 was designed by unifying two alternate versions of the classic silhouette that blend, overlapping, into a single shape. For this silhouette specifically, the concept of duality was followed: an overlap of two organic canvas uppers, combined vulcanized rubber bands and a new sole, divided into four dials. A design that becomes complex especially in the combination of sole volumes, which appears displaced on two levels. Other design details include a double set of eyelets while Feng Chen Wang's logo appears on the strings, which is also repeated on the heel.

La nuova Converse x Feng Chen Wang Chuck 70 2-in-1 sarà disponibile a partire dal 20 ottobre online sul sito di Converse e presso rivenditori selezionati.
