During the first day of Paris Fashion Week, at the Galerie Courbe of the Grand Palais, Pierpaolo Piccioli presented Valentino's FW20 collection. Highlights are not only the live performance of FKA twigs or the interesting creations which balance tailoring and graphics, romance and underground, but also the white sneakers, the result of the collaboration with Onitsuka Tiger.

Piccioli reworked one of the most iconic models of the Japanese brand: Mexico 66 SD. The shoe, which debuted during the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico and became so popular that it was worn by Bruce Lee and Uma Thurman in Kill Bill, now gets a minimalist design. The sneaker is made special by Valentino V logo hand-printed on the side over the Onitsuka Tiger stripes, and by an additional co-branded logo on the shoe-tongue and insole. The midsole features superior cushioning and a durable, non-slip outersole. On the catwalk, it was revealed only the white version, but the collection will also include neon orange, pink and yellow. The collaboration will be officially launched in summer 2020, when it will be available in selected Valentino boutiques around the world and on valentino.com. An edition in the Japanese brand's tricolor shades of white, red and blue will also be sold in selected Onitsuka Tiger stores and online on onitsukatiger.com.
