Nike and Undercover reinterpret techwear in their new capsule

After the recent collaboration with Matthew Williams, Nike returns to explore the world of hiking in the bold take of Undercover's Jun Takahashi, whose motto is "Make noise, not clothes". The result is a capsule that includes parkas, a hoodie, a pocket t-shirt, cargo pants and two sneakers that had already been spotted during Undercover's FW19 show in Paris: the Nike x Undercover Air Max 720 and the Nike x Undercover React Boot. The global release of the winter capsule is set for November 30th.

The cornerstone of the collection is the Fishtail Parka. The first feature of its design is the diamond-shaped pattern that appears when the fabric comes into contact with moisture, a Takahashi device to make the piece interact with its surroundings. The functionality of the parka is elevated to aesthetics through simple but acute technical tricks. On the sleeve there is a transparent "window" to be able to look at your watch without having to pull back the hem. The parka also has a removable and wearable interior quilt that insulates it thermally without inflating its silhouette. Last detail are the two upper, transparent front pockets, through which you see the Nike swoosh towering over the words "Chaos" and "Balance".

Sneakers are the second most important items in the collection. The Air Max 720 model remained largely unchanged. The most notable updates are the dark white-taped midsole, the Undercover branding on the tip and the "Make noise, not clothes" inscription printed on the transparent bubble of the outer sole. The real news is the React Boot, a tech hybrid between the classic Wellington Boot, the Nike React and the historic Nike Air Pressure. The boot has an internal air pumping system that allows you to inflate and deflate the shoe. For a fitted fit, the boot has no laces but closes with a zip, and is designed to cushion any bump.
