Versace's soap opera for the Christmas Holidays 2019

Versace's soap opera for the Christmas Holidays 2019 A new project in collaboration with artist Sarah Baker and top model Helena Christensen

Voluminous hair, heavy make-up, glamorous and tight dresses, sparkling jewels, intrigues, drama, love and betrayal. Eighties atmospheres and looks that evoke the episodes of Dynasty (the reboot is on Netflix) with the iconic Joan Collins as the evil Alexis Carrington (take a look at the IG account dedicated to her outfits @whatalexiswore).
Versace celebrates the Christmas Holidays 2019 with its personal soap opera made in collaboration with Sarah Baker and starring the same British artist and supermodel Helena Christensen as Angelina and The Baroness. The story, divided into six chapters, follows their lives between scandals and luxury, but, differently from what happened in vintage TV shows, the two women are not enemies, but atypical femme fatales who support each other with strength and sisterhood. Together with Sarah and Helena, the focus is on evening dresses, the Chain Reaction sneakers and the Virtus bags; accessories and furnishings from the Versace Home collection decorated with the brand's iconic codes, such as Medusa, Greca, and the signature of Gianni Versace.

I am thrilled to collaborate with Sarah Baker on this new project: she is a visionary artist and knows exactly how to best represent the Versace woman. My clothes are designed to give strength to the person who wears them and in the same way this Holiday catalogue has been designed.

Donatella Versace commented on her partnership with Baker, for which she also became guest editor of the second edition of Baroness, a London magazine founded by Matthew Holroyd and the director of Dazed & Confused Isabella Burlet, which deals with art, fashion and politics. Inside the edition, which will be available worldwide from November, you can enjoy a fashion story created and illustrated by Sarah Baker and full of the artist's old-fashioned references such as the pink novels of Jackie Collins (sister of Joan Collins from Dynasty), one of her personal muse.
