Vestiaire Collective celebrates its 10th anniversary with an online treasure hunt The international leading platform for second-hand luxury gives away 100 fashion items for 2 euros

It was 2009 when Sébastien Fabre, Sophie Hersan, Alexandre Cognard, Henrique Fernandes, Christian Jorge and Fanny Moizant had the great idea of creating Vestiaire Collective, the first online social shopping website. The success was immediate and the French project soon became an international leader in the sale of high-end second-hand fashion garments. Now, 10 years later, the company has a global community of over 9 million users (including many celebrities) and over 900,000 carefully selected and controlled items available at any given moment. In order to celebrate the important anniversary, the platform launches a special treasure hunt to be held online from 8 to 12 November, which can be followed via app or on the website, where a hundred pieces chosen from the most popular brands of 2019 will be given away, sold for the occasion at €2. All you have to do to participate is follow the clues and be lucky. If you want more information click here

Vestiaire Collective also reveals some curiosities about its history and its customers. For example, we learn that the piece that launched the business was a Gucci bag, owned by co-founder Fanny Moizant, the fastest-selling item (in just 57 seconds) was a Céline Coin bracelet, while the most expensive was a £70,411 Hermès crocodile Birkin

An interview with the global community also reveals that selling is the new buying. When asked "what made you want to become a member of Vestiaire Collective", in fact, 66% of the participants responded because of the excitement of selling pieces they no longer wore. An interview with the global community also reveals that "selling is the new buying" is better than buying. When asked "what made you want to become a member of Vestiaire Collective", in fact, 66% of the participants responded because of the excitement of selling pieces they no longer wore. Other reasons that make the experience on the shopping platform satisfying? The "decluttering", i.e. to eliminate the unnecessary items and what we no longer use while at the same time earning money; a sustainable approach to fashion; finding unique or rare pieces; being part of a fashion lovers' community.
