Top 5 pop culture moments in Air Max history It's about Jennifer Lopez, a Range Rover and Friends

The Air Max "is not a shoe", as the claim of the first advertising campaign dedicated to Air Max 1 used to say. We are talking about sneakers that have become real cult objects of pop culture thanks to certain moments and the characters that have made them reach the levels of popularity that Air Max has reached today. So, to celebrate Air Max Day 2019, we chose to put together the 5 top pop culture moments in the history of Air Max.
Have fun.

5. Jennifer Lopez x Nike Air Max Plus

In 1999, J-Lo's career exploded like a bomb thanks to her debut single, "If You Had My Love". The video was accompanied by a video that made history and Jennifer Lopez's career take off not only as a singer but also as an actress and dancer. In the video, we see Jenny from the block dancing with a pair of Nike Air Max Plus a feat that, thanks to the success of the song and the video, became one of the most iconic Air Max models ever.

4. JFK Jr. x Nike Air 180

The youngest son of the 35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, who tragically died in a plane crash at the age of 39, was a man with a unique charm and charisma. Growing up in Manhattan he was inevitably the trend of the era, such as jogging, and in fact, his famous shirtless photo while training raised the prices of a beautiful shoe, the Nike Air Max 180, worn by the son of JFK.

3. Range Rover x Air Max 93

A unique Cross-Branding project. One of the most memorable moments in the history of Air Max. This brilliant 1993 Range Rover campaign brought together the new Air Max 93 technology and the latest Range Rover model edition which, like its footworn friend, featured air suspension.

2. Michael Jordan x Nike Air Triax 94

This is a treat for real nerds. We've all seen the Space Jam masterpiece, where His Airness Michael Jordan is having to save the world from aliens by playing a basketball game with Bugs Bunny, Duffy Duck, and a host of additional good company. The film is also a harbinger of images of the then new Air Jordan (the Jordan XI "Space Jam" for example) but not only: in an initial scene of the film, Michael is seen grappling with his dog, who "assails" him to lick his face, wearing a pair of Air Max Triax 94s that literally took flight.

1. Jennifer Aniston x Nike Air Max 96

Thanksgiving Day, 1996. A special episode of Friends, now in its third season and at the peak of its popularity. Rachel, Jennifer Aniston, for the occasion had a pair of Air Max 96 on her feet. Needless to say, from that moment everyone, and really everyone dreamed of a pair of Air Max 96s. The pop culture of the 90s ramped up to maximum power: Friends, Air Max, and Jennifer Aniston, all on Thanksgiving. The rest is history.
