Gucci will present the Cruise 2020 collection in Rome Inside the Musei Capitolini

28 May 2019, save the date.
Gucci will unveil the Cruise 2020 collection with an exclusive fashion show in Rome, inside the Capitoline Museums. After the Dia-Art Foundation in New York, the cloisters of Westminster Abbey in London, the Palatine Gallery in Palazzo Pitti in Florence and the ancient Alyscamps site in Arles, the Florentine brand once again chooses a special place, deeply linked to art and history to present its latest creations. The announcement
by the same maison together with the City of Rome, underlines how the creative director Alessandro Michele continues to promote and enhance the unique Italian and world artistic heritage, as he had done recently with the pre-fall lookbook 2019, recreating a series of contemporary tableau vivant inside the archaeological parks of Pompeii, Herculaneum and Selinunte.
Located on the Campidoglio, the Capitoline Museums represent a unique complex due to the importance of their collections full of antiquity and centuries-old history (it seems they were the first museum in the world open to the public), all characteristics that have always been part of Michele's aesthetics.

The maison has finally announced that in the next two years will recover the Rupe Tarpea, the rock face on the southern side of the Campidoglio, which today represents a unique natural space, but where, up to century AD, the traitors of the homeland condemned to death were thrown into the Roman Forum below. Another example of how fashion and art can support each other.
