Going from stride to stride recently, Matthew Williams is currently one of the hottest names in fashion. From his own 1017 ALYX 9SM collection presentations, his continued collaboration with Kim Jones on the latest Dior Men’s  presentations, to the announcement of his addition to the innovative Moncler Genius project last week.

Not to mention his new Nike training collection, which after the campaign lookbook release a couple weeks back, we have been waiting to get a more detailed look at. Surprise dropping over the weekend on his own Alyx Studio site, the limited supply sold out rather fast for most items, but we can now see exactly what’s awaiting us when the collection gets its official drop via Nike online Nikelab flagships on Thursday, February 7th, of this week. Inspired again by data driven design, his second training collection focuses on how data reveals things that are normally unseen. See the collection below:

"For this collection, we used computational algorithms to create the camouflage pattern. Camouflage, of course, traditionally derives from nature.” With data, Williams is able to toy with hidden-in-plain-sight natural shapes to arrive at a new motif. The pattern isn't just trend-driven but also appropriate to one of the functional purposes of the products, equipping athletes for what Williams describes as "really hardcore outdoor training." The collection consists of a mix of Sherpa fleece, two-in-one pants, utility vests, and detachable hoods. Everything is about multi-functional use. Data also informs the paneling on the tops.

“When you're running, you get wet mainly on the top of your shoulders, so we ensured rain coverage on that spot" Williams explains. This was all exemplified well at a special release event in the north of Italy last week where a gang of influencers and athletes were invited to test the range on the snow-clad mountains. Naomi Campbell also did a special workout video in the collection for Vogue Uk, and notably, Travis Scott also wore the Garment Dye Long Sleeve for his performance at last nights Super Bowl.

The question still remains exactly when the hyped sneaker will drop and if there is any way the eye-catching Vibram sole cage will be possible to cop, though speaking to industry insiders we are finding it quite hard to believe Nike would do so, stay locked to nss for the updates.
