The Sneaker of the Year 2018 nss together with Laced Up community has the results

We’re almost at the end of the year and before we all slide into 2019 we thought it only right to find out what you all thought the Sneaker of the Year was. nss together with Laced Up community conducted a poll to get the answers and below you can see the results for this year's sneaker of the year.

The people have spoken and the sneaker of the year is:

Sean Wotherspoon Air Max 97/1

Perhaps not the biggest surprise, the secret is that this novel and innovative design in many ways taps into a feeling of retro familiarity that we're seeing trending a lot at the moment. The perfect mix of fresh and heritage, its first place feels well deserved.

Air Jordan 1 Off-White NRG colorway

Next comes another pair that has had another incredibly hyped year, you guessed it, Virgil Abloh and Michael Jordan take the runner-up spot with the super-hyped Air Jordan 1 Off-White NRG colorway, which has been the grail of the year for many.

Third place sees another Jordan silhouette, the newly released Air Jordan 1 Union Black Toe, in fourth it's Virgil again, with Air Presto x Off-White Black continuing off 'the Ten' hype from last year, in 5th its the Nike Air Max 180 CDG with its neon pink finish has made it a shoe impossible to miss the year. In 6th and 7th were back to OG Jordan silhouettes with Air Jordan 1 Bred Toe and Air Jordan 1 Court Purple.

Nike React 87 x Undercover Green Mist

In 8th place we see the Nike React 87 x Undercover Green Mist, the React silhouette which was the biggest really futuristic design of 2018, showing a glimpse of the more forward-thinking aesthetic going on at Nike. 9th place is taken by Nike Air Max 1 Parra F&F, with its fun very graphic design making a must cop for many.

Looking down the list a few more standouts need to be mentioned, Air Fear of God in 10th is interesting in how a sneaker that's not even properly out yet has such a high rating. In a list heavily dominated by Nike, adidas first enters the list in 14th with the Yeezy 700 Mauve, and the first luxury brand is in 16th with the Louis Vuitton ArchLight, though with the current trend climate we foresee a much larger luxury presence on the list next year.

That's the list for this year, we wish you all a Merry Cop Christmas and a Happy New Sneaker Year!
