Daniëlle Cathari to drop her own first collection

"DC DROP1" is coming this Friday

Daniëlle Cathari to drop her own first collection DC DROP1 is coming this Friday

A young designer that is doing some very interesting work at the moment is the talented Daniëlle Cathari. The Dutch designer who’s based in Amsterdam has had a quick rise into the spotlight, highlighted by her work with Vfiles and most notably her work with Adidas Originals where her fresh take on their classic tracksuit has gained wide praise and has been seen sported by the likes of Kendall Jenner. The time has now come for her to inaugurate her own eponymous unisex clothing label which is dropping its first pieces this Friday, November 16th.

Made up of 6 items, “DC DROP1” consists of heavy-weight athleisure wear in the form of t-shirts with faded gothic inspired fonts, a hand-braided plait on pants, and a spider graphic adorned sweater. Cathari points to style aesthetics “such as deconstruction” alongside “themes of complementing and contrasting” that feed into the design ethos of her new label.

“I call it a drop because it’s not a full collection; it’s a capsule of six pieces. “Of course I’m dropping my first collection, but it comes with actually launching my whole brand. So everyone gets a first impression of this — not just the items or clothing — but the whole package and vibe….We wanted to be clear, ‘This is the brand. This is Daniëlle Cathari.”
