This year is the 10 year anniversary of Stone Island’s innovative Shadow Project line, which since its inception has been designed by Acronym’s Errolson Hugh who stands unrivaled in his position within the world of Techwear. Stone Island Shadow Project began in 2008 as a discourse between Carlo Rivetti and the design team of Michaela Sachenbacher and Errolson Hugh, who co-founded ACRONYM® together and is seen as a platform for exploration. The Shadow project rapidly evolved into a new generation of urban masculine apparel, creating some amazing pieces over the last 10 years.

Thanks to Stone Island’s incredible historical archive, and its unparalleled forward development resources, ACRONYM® sought to conceive a project according to their strong technical and performance based roots. The result was a fresh and intelligent new light cast upon the timeless interplay of form and function that is Stone Island.

To celebrate the anniversary a specially crafted art installation was displayed at an event in Soho, London last night, who also created the Stone Island installation in Milan during Design week earlier this year, nss was there to see what went down, check out our picture reportage of the event above.

Coinciding with the event, Stone Island today dropped the most impressive pieces of the Shadow Project anniversary collection, the Scarabeo pieces. Infused with a special resin that spreads thousands of glass microspheres onto the garments, creating a unique reflective iridescent effect that really has to be seen to be believed. The three main pieces are an anorak, a parka and the definitive piece is the full-length stealth jacket.

Available in select Stone Island retailers and online now.
