Met Gala 2018 Highlights

So last night it happened, the 2018 Met Gala, and as we reported on yesterday, the theme and its manifestation in the evening's fashion was definitely one for the history books. Many tried, a few succeeded, and some didn’t do so very well. As usual, the night brought out the top shelf of A-list celebrities, in their various couple or single constellations. Some noteworthy attendees were: Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, the Hadid sisters, Travis Scott & Kylie Jenner, Rihanna, Cardi B, John Legend, and Jared Leto. A few of the highlights of the evening were Rihanna’s divisive 'Pope' dress, Elon Musk's apparent coupling with Grimes, who was wearing a Tesla chocker. Jaden Smith brought his own gold record to flaunt, 2 Chainz proposed to his girlfriend, Alessandro Michele together with Jared Leto and Lan del Rey formed a holy trinity of Gucci, and Virgil gave us a glimpse at one of his first creations for Louis Vuitton.

With the night's theme being, "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” we saw scores of religious imagery and cross adorned dresses and suits. Some reiterations were even more literal, taking cues directly from priest and pope inspired robes. After some rather heated debates at the nss office, we’re mixing things up by presenting our choices in 3 categories. The 'good', the 'bad', and the 'bad, but good'.
