Alexander Wang leaves the position of CEO of his homonymous label The designer remains only as Creative Director and Chairman

The news comes from Business of Fashion: Alexander Wang renounces of the title of CEO of his eponymous label.

The designer maintains the role of Creative Director and Chairman, but he leaves CEO to Lisa Gersch, former head of Goop and Martha Stewart Omnimedia; while Stephanie Horton, former Farfetch marketing director with experiences at Vogue America and The New York Times, is also assigned the newly created position of Chief Strategy Officer.

"The appointment of CEO, and the addition of a CSO position, highlight our ongoing strategy of productivity and diversification" - Wang says in a statement - "In a rapidly changing retail environment, it’s necessary for us to continually challenge the status quo. In my year as CEO I’ve been able to reflect and assess the strengths and opportunities of the company and set the stage for future growth.
Lisa and Stephanie’s diverse backgrounds in the media, lifestyle and digital landscape will help us continue to position the business to expand into new categories and territories".

We just have to wait and see the results of these management changes.
