Virgil Abloh will design the costumes of the New York City Ballet Along with him a team of designers works for the September Gala

The New York City Ballet chooses Virgil Abloh to make the costumes for its Autumn Gala in the agenda on September 28th.

OFF-WHIITE's designer will join forces with Laura Kim, Fernando Garcia, Jonathan Saunders, and Tsumori Chisato, all of the major fashion names that are added to other icons like Olivier Theyskens, Sarah Burton, Carolina Herrera, Valentino, Dries Van Noten.

Each team member works closely with a choreographer to create custom garments that fit better to the body and movement of dancers. Abloh was paired with choreographer Gianna Reisen, Kim and Garcia with the lead dancer Lauren Lovette, Saunders with the soloist Troy Schumacher and Chisato with choreographer Justin Peck.

To see how the style of these fashion gurus will marry with the world of ballet we have to wait until September 28, the day of the gala.
