Gosha Rubchinskiy x Burberry SS18 capsule collection Presented among the rave inspirations and football references during the St Petersburg's runway

For the SS18 Menswear collection, Gosha Rubchinskiy seems to have snatched up the wardrobe of a kid in St. Petersburg. The Russian fashion designer knows well what the passions of young people who animate the streets of the city are and, more importantly, he knows how to reinterpret their styles, their aesthetic codes to give the fashion world an inspiring full immersion in the youth culture of his country.

Gosha Rubchinskiy doesn't design collections, but moving photographs which immortalize a specific lifestyle and his SS18 collection is no exception. The fashion designer seems to have wondered what the main interests might be for young people in St. Petersburg, coming to two conclusions: football and electronic musicIn this eclectic collection, full of bold mixes and ultra-modern combinations, there is still a classic touch. What attracted the most attention from the public and the media was, in fact, the capsule collection made in collaboration with Burberry and inserted with extreme nonchalance between rave inspirations and football references. A collaboration that might seem unusual but that couldn't represent any better the Russian football tradition - the St. Petersburg Football Club was actually founded by the British in 1879.

“I have been a big supporter and admirer of Gosha’s creative work for a long time,” said Bailey. “He has an innate cultural sensibility and I was honored when he asked us to collaborate together for his new collection. His reinterpretation of some of our most iconic designs, feels exciting, new and relevant whilst paying enormous respect to their British cultural heritage”,

The collaboration involves eight pieces in extreme contrast with the rest of the designer's collection but that overall create an absolutely irresistible bias. Among the t-shirts, pants, and headwear, Gosha introduces his vision of the British high-end fashion, also presenting a review of the inexhaustible Burberry trench, featured in two typical colors, beige and blue navy, plus a third bicolor version the undecided.

The one between Gosha Rubchinskiy and Burberry is a partnership that has already conquered all streetwear enthusiasts and not only, but we have to wait for 2018 to be able to live.
