Trend Alert - Sabot Shoe

Trend Alert - Sabot Shoe From the SS17 fashion show to street style, the shoe trend that conquered everyone

The return of the Mia Mule by Alberta Ferretti has sanctioned what is probably the true  shoe trend of summer 2017: the mule shoe. Inspired by a '90s piece of archive but revisited in flat version, Mia Mule has paved the way for other designers to propose the sabot model in several variants.

Since some season now, this summer shoe is worn without fear even with stiffer temperatures making its shy appearance among the coolest wardrobe seen on the Internet. Today, however, the mule shoe has definitively gained a place of honor among the most followed trends of the moment, thanks to the re-edition by some luxury brands, also copied by fast-fashioned chains such as Zara that fueled the phenomenon.

From Alexander Wang, who offers it ultra minimal with a skeleton in leather and Swarovski that dresses the foot as a jewel, to Acne Studios with a more casual and delicate fit for everyday use everyone is now proposing this model. Miu Miu and Céline also fail to resist the temptation and adorn the classic model with pop and ultra-feminine details such as crystals and marabou while an ultra-grunge proposal is made by Balenciaga. It is impossible not to name Gucci, who for years now is the star of fashion street style with its sabot model declined in the most disparate ways.
