The next Wes Anderson movie will be a musical

The first details of Wes Anderson's new project begin to emerge.

After the animated film, The Island of Dogs, the director is about to start shooting a musical in France in the 1950s in November. According to the headline Charente Libre, the chosen location would be Angoulême, where the filmmaker has been living with his daughter and partner Julan Malouf for some time. The Premiere magazine, however, reveals that it will be Mark Mothersbaugh, former founder of the rock band Devo and collaborator of Anderson from his debut to The Water Adventures of Steve Zissou, to write the original songs for the film.

What else do we know about the tenth feature film by the author of The Tenenbaums? The budget is about 20 million dollars, the shots will last from four to five months and it seems that the protagonist will be a very famous star, who won the Oscar in the last five years. The possible name has not yet been revealed, but among the most valid hypotheses there are Frances McDormand, Cate Blanchett, Emma Stone, Jared Leto, Gary Oldman and Eddie Redmayne.

While we wait to know the truth, there is another Anderson project that is being presented: the exhibition that the director is preparing together with Julan Malouf at the Kunsthistorisches Museum and which will be inaugurated on 6 November, remaining open until April 2019, then move to the Prada Foundation in Venice. Great news for Wes Anderson's fans, right?
