KAWS's artworks land in your home thanks to augmented reality

The artist presented never-seen-before works for the digital art festival "Unreal City"

KAWS's artworks land in your home thanks to augmented reality The artist presented never-seen-before works for the digital art festival Unreal City

Acute Art, the app dedicated to the art world that had signed the Expanded Holiday project with KAWS, presented, in partnership with Dazed Media, the new Unreal City digital festival, entirely dedicated to augmented reality. For a month, it will be possible to use AR to bring into your home the site-specific works of artists such as KAWS, Olafur Eliasson, Nina Chanel Abney and Marco Brambilla. Daniel Birnbaum, artistic director of Acute Art and curator of the festival, told WWD

The beauty of augmented reality means that rather than extending the site-specific show by popular demand, we can respond to interest and the new lockdown measures by bringing the exhibition to you.

The use of augmented reality has been one of the most interesting and versatile new fields of exploration for the art world as well as for fashion. In particular, acute art's recent projects with KAWS (which in fact has returned to collaborate with the app with unpublished works) demonstrate how digital can revolutionize the concept of site-specific through works usable by anyone without geographical limitations and, above all, with zero environmental impact.

The Unreal City virtual festival will last until February 9th and it will be possible to participate by downloading the Acute Art app.
