Many many things can contribute to making a home a Home.
Personally, it’s the Plants, objects, and ornaments within my home that are important to me. These are objects are a mixture of things made, found, bought and gifted by friends. Sentinels of memory always static filling voids in space creating a warm and holistic home.

Originally from Norfolk, a coastal county in England’s south-east, Marcus Oakley’s work is inspired by many things – both retrospective and contemporary. His influences include folk, a harmonic and melodic music of all kinds; the pastoral and folkloric delights of the countryside and the various eccentric beasts and humans that inhabit it; the joys of cycling; the stimulations of tea; the dizzy geometries of architecture and design – and overall the wonders of making stuff.
